The hallways are buzzing with excitement as the students and teachers prepare for the last day of school before winter break. Starting tomorrow at 3:45, students and teachers will be off for winter break until Thursday, January 2, 2020! Some of our staffers shared below what they are most looking forward to over winter break.
Vera Over Winter Break, I am going to New Jersey on Christmas day. During the afternoon of Christmas my family will drive to North of New Jersey to visit my grandparents. I am going to stay in New Jersey for about 4 days. On Christmas night my cousins, aunts, and uncles get together for a family gathering. Now I can’t wait for Winter Break! Carly I am doing lots of fun things over winter break. First, I am going to Illinois to see my grandparents and celebrate Christmas with them. It is so much fun because I go see a movie on Christmas Eve with my family. Then, I am going to Kentucky to see more of my family and celebrate Christmas and New Years with them. To get back home we drive 9 hours. That’s a lot of time in the car with my siblings. I hope you have a great winter break! Max I am looking forward to winter break for one reason and that is to be able to sleep in. I am also looking forward to all the free time I will have at my house. But still mainly MY SLEEP!!!! Zahra For winter break, I will go to restaurant with my family and we are going to watch a movie. Also, my family and I will sit down on the couch and watch the New Year’s Eve countdown. Most of the time we will be in our pjs and sleeping because who doesn’t like sleeping. That’s what I will be doing for winter break. Molly I am doing some fun things over winter break! I celebrate Christmas and we have a Christmas tree, an advent calendar, and even an elf on the shelf! I am not going anywhere for winter break, but I am going to spend Christmas eve dinner with my grandparents, my mom, and my sister. We will watch Christmas movies such Scrooge and The Grinch! On Christmas morning I will open presents. I might even open one of Christmas Eve! I am very happy to be off school for so long! I always love the winter season and I hope everyone does something fun with their family and friends! Nick I am staying home for the holidays also; I am having family over for the holidays. My grandparents are coming to my house. Also, my cousin is coming to my house before Christmas and going to Sweden for the holidays. Katie I don’t have family over because my family is too far! Part of my dad’s side lives in Florida and the other part lives in Boston, Massachusetts and my mom’s side lives in Texas. The only traditions I have is every Christmas Eve we eat Mexican food and driving around looking at Christmas lights. I am looking forward to that. We are also going to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. That is just a bunch of light shows. One of them from last year, I remember, was water shots with fire on top! That is all I really look forward to, except for getting presents! Connor I have many things to share about my winter break. Though I can only have a limited amount I can talk about. On Christmas eve I will leave on a flight to Guatemala. I have two connecting flights, so it’s going to be a long exhausting trip. I don’t really know what I'm going to do on my trip, but I know that it is going to be a 7-day trip. That is all I can say. Ms. Patek Over winter break, I will spend time with my family for Christmas. I also visit the Glen Avenue Fire Station's train garden every year with my mom, sister, and uncle. On New Year's Eve, my whole family goes to dinner together. Besides seeing my family, I am really looking forward to sleeping in a little bit, reading, and spending extra time with my cats.
