Hampton students participated in Career Day on May 7th to learn about different careers that they might like to have. Career Day is a opportunity for students to explore different careers they might be interested in. For kindergarten through second grade, students attended Touch a Truck outside. Different careers that involve types of trucks, like firefighter, police, or BGE, showed students their vehicles. "I liked career day because at Touch A Truck I got to hear about Police dogs and got to do activities at the lacrosse truck," said Abigail, a second grade student. Third through fifth grade traveled through three different rooms and got to look at several presentations in each one. Students were able to choose which presentations they wanted to look at. "It wasn't too hard to find interesting things about my job because most people don't know much about OT, but it is a fun and meaningful job,'' said Sarah H. an occupational therapist. Fourth and fifth graders also got to attend a cooking demonstration in the cafeteria at the end of the day. Chef Egg cooked pasta and taught students some french cooking vocabulary. Students had opportunities to learn about many different careers from people within the Hampton community.
